Taranjit Singh Dhillon named trustee of Co-op Wholesale’s charity Co-op Wholesale’s Head of Retail, Taranjit Singh Dhillon, has been appointed as a trustee of the organisation’s charity initiative, Making a Difference Locally (MADL). Taranjit joined Co-op Wholesale as Head of Retail in September 2024, following his tenure at One Stop. His dedication to community engagement has been evident throughout his career, most recently through his support in bringing Nisa symbol store retailers and the local community together to serve hot meals to vulnerable individuals in Warrington. This initiative embodied the Sikh tradition of Langar - a practice centred around equality, humility, and service to others. Making a Difference Locally (MADL) is Co-op Wholesale’s charity, established to help independent retailers support local causes. By raising funds through the sale of selected products in partner stores, MADL enables retailers to make donations to community organisations, charities, and other good causes in their local areas. Since its inception, the charity has donated millions of pounds to thousands of deserving initiatives across the UK. Commenting on his appointment, Taranjit said, “I am truly honoured to join Making a Difference Locally as a trustee. Community is at the heart of everything we do at Co-op Wholesale, and I am committed to working alongside my fellow trustees to continue driving positive change and supporting retailers in their efforts to give back to the communities they serve.”
