Brits are eager to celebrate Easter with their families, though they will be more selective about their spending due to financial pressures, thus creating an opportunity for retailers to offer products that provide value for money, suggests a recent report. According to leading analyst GlobalData, over 40 per cent of UK Easter shoppers have reported that they intend to spend more this year, leading to a projected total expenditure of £2.3 billion. This surge in spending will be driven primarily by food and drink and luxury Easter eggs purchases. With Easter falling April 20, three weeks later than last year, retailers should prepare by promoting alcoholic beverages and outdoor furniture amid the potential for a warmer Easter bank holiday weekend.
